Location

Please arrive by 4:30 PM to be seated for the ceremony, which will begin promptly at 5:00 PM. The bride and groom kindly request that guest remain present in the moment and refrain from using cellphones, as the ceremony will be unplugged.

What is an unplugged ceremony?

The term&#160;unplugged&#160;means to turn off your cell phones and cameras. No devices. Eyes up and focus on the couple. It applies solely to the ceremony and acts as a gentle reminder for our guests to remain present at our ceremony.&#160;This will also allow the photographer to capture all of your smiles and tears of joy. We have an amazing photographer/ videographer, and we trust him to capture this special moment for us.

Cocktail Hour 

Reception

Join us for the reception immediately following the cocktail hour. There will be speeches, great food, drinks, music, lots of dancing and most importantly, fun amongst loved ones. Come ready to dance!!!

Children

To give all our guests the opportunity to celebrate without having to worry about little eyes and ears, we politely request no children under the age of 15 be in attendance at our wedding. We hope you understand our decision to make our wedding child free and take this opportunity to let your hair down.

Formal all Black

We ask that our guest wear all black formal attire to compliment the aesthetic of our celebration.

What is Formal Attire?

Formal attire is a dress code that's worn for special occasions like weddings, funerals, and balls. It's characterized by neatness, sophistication, and attention to detail.&nbsp;

What is Appropriate?

For this event men should wear a black suit, dress shirt, and tie or black dress pants with black collar shirt, oxford or dress shoes. While women should wear a black formal dress, pantsuit, cocktail dress or classy black separates with elegant shoes.

What is not Appropriate?

For this event, please avoid wearing anything white, off-white, ivory, extremely bright, or flashy colors; only black is appropriate. Additionally, overly casual attire such as jeans, sneakers, shorts, t-shirts, flip-flops, and sundresses is not suitable for this occasion.

Shania and Cassandra met in 2009 while attending Virginia State University, and their friendship quickly blossomed into a lifelong bond filled with support, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Casey and Shania met in 2012 through a mutal friend and very quickly developed a friendship that has proven to stand the test of time

Jamie and Shania met while working together at Home Depot in the year 2007. Their friendship blossomed as they shared countless laughs and memorable moments throughout the years

Brandye and Shania met in 2012 at work but formed a friendship through Shaun in 2015. Brandye has been a trusted confidant to both Shania and Shaun as they have grown in their relationship. Brandye is also the God mother to both of Shaun and Shania's children, Shai and Jrue

Rochelle and Shania met during Shania's first trip to Canada in the holiday season of 2013. As Shaun's youngest sister, Rochelle has been a total sweetheart. She'll officially become Shania's Sister-in-Love on June 27, 2026.

The middle sister of the Garrett girls trio Shania and Shatera, have been at the sister thing since her birth in 1988. She will most definitely bring an energy like no other to the wedding day.

Jahmyah&nbsp;is&nbsp;the&nbsp;baby&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;Garrett&nbsp;girls&nbsp;trio&nbsp;and&nbsp;is&nbsp;Shania's&nbsp;first&nbsp;official&nbsp;baby&nbsp;as&nbsp;of&nbsp;1994.&nbsp;Jahmyah&nbsp;has&nbsp;a&nbsp;smile&nbsp;and&nbsp;energy&nbsp;that&nbsp;will&nbsp;light&nbsp;up&nbsp;any&nbsp;room,&nbsp;and&nbsp;we&nbsp;expect&nbsp;her&nbsp;to&nbsp;bring&nbsp;the&nbsp;fun&nbsp;on&nbsp;the&nbsp;wedding&nbsp;day.

Sweet&nbsp;Nala&nbsp;is&nbsp;the&nbsp;SIXTEEN&nbsp;YEAR&nbsp;OLD&nbsp;daughter&nbsp;of&nbsp;Casey&nbsp;the&nbsp;Matron&nbsp;of&nbsp;Honor.&nbsp;She&nbsp;has&nbsp;been&nbsp;around&nbsp;Shania&nbsp;since&nbsp;she&nbsp;was&nbsp;in&nbsp;elementary&nbsp;school&nbsp;and&nbsp;is&nbsp;the&nbsp;sweetest,&nbsp;smartest,&nbsp;most&nbsp;beautiful&nbsp;soul,&nbsp;just&nbsp;like&nbsp;her&nbsp;mama

Ivy&nbsp;is&nbsp;the&nbsp;youngest&nbsp;daughter&nbsp;of&nbsp;Casey,&nbsp;the&nbsp;Matron&nbsp;of&nbsp;Honor,&nbsp;and&nbsp;has&nbsp;the&nbsp;most&nbsp;beautiful&nbsp;spirit.&nbsp;She&nbsp;will&nbsp;certainly&nbsp;handle&nbsp;her&nbsp;role&nbsp;as&nbsp;a&nbsp;flower&nbsp;girl&nbsp;with&nbsp;grace

Shai is the 3 year old daughter of Shaun and Shania and has the sassy, spunky personality of a 16 year old but is as sweet as pie she will absolutely turn heads while walking down the aisle.

Anthony and Shaun crossed paths at Warrant Officer Candidate School in 2017 and have kept their friendship going strong ever since. Parker and his wife Michelle are not only a bundle of joy but also two of the kindest individuals you'll ever meet.

Kevin is Shaun's older brother and one of our favorite people. Known for his big personality and unwavering support, he brings a unique energy to any gathering, and we're excited to have him stand by Shaun's side. We couldn't imagine celebrating this special occasion without him.

From&nbsp;her&nbsp;POV!!!!&nbsp; We&nbsp;met&nbsp;at&nbsp;work—him,&nbsp;a&nbsp;soldier,&nbsp;and&nbsp;me,&nbsp;a&nbsp;government&nbsp;civilian&nbsp;contractor.&nbsp;I&nbsp;spotted&nbsp;his&nbsp;name&nbsp;on&nbsp;his&nbsp;uniform&nbsp;from&nbsp;emails&nbsp;and&nbsp;decided&nbsp;to&nbsp;stop&nbsp;him&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;hall&nbsp;one&nbsp;day&nbsp;to&nbsp;fuss&nbsp;about&nbsp;some&nbsp;paperwork&nbsp;he&nbsp;sent&nbsp;my&nbsp;way.&nbsp;He&nbsp;just&nbsp;looked&nbsp;at&nbsp;me&nbsp;like,&nbsp;“What’s&nbsp;wrong&nbsp;with&nbsp;you?”&nbsp;I&nbsp;was&nbsp;a&nbsp;bit&nbsp;mean,&nbsp;but&nbsp;it&nbsp;had&nbsp;nothing&nbsp;to&nbsp;do&nbsp;with&nbsp;him;&nbsp;I&nbsp;was&nbsp;just&nbsp;freaked&nbsp;out&nbsp;because&nbsp;the&nbsp;moment&nbsp;we&nbsp;started&nbsp;talking,&nbsp;I&nbsp;heard&nbsp;God&nbsp;say,&nbsp;“This&nbsp;is&nbsp;your&nbsp;husband.” Shaun&nbsp;was&nbsp;super&nbsp;shy&nbsp;back&nbsp;then,&nbsp;and&nbsp;I&nbsp;later&nbsp;learned&nbsp;he&nbsp;asked&nbsp;my&nbsp;coworker,&nbsp;Ms.&nbsp;Gee,&nbsp;to&nbsp;introduce&nbsp;us.&nbsp;When&nbsp;we&nbsp;officially&nbsp;met,&nbsp;I&nbsp;heard&nbsp;God&nbsp;say&nbsp;it&nbsp;again:&nbsp;“This&nbsp;is&nbsp;your&nbsp;husband.”&nbsp;But&nbsp;what&nbsp;God&nbsp;didn’t&nbsp;mention&nbsp;was&nbsp;that&nbsp;it&nbsp;would&nbsp;take&nbsp;13&nbsp;years&nbsp;to&nbsp;get&nbsp;to&nbsp;this&nbsp;point—lol! For&nbsp;about&nbsp;a&nbsp;month,&nbsp;he’d&nbsp;email&nbsp;me&nbsp;asking&nbsp;what&nbsp;I&nbsp;was&nbsp;doing&nbsp;for&nbsp;lunch,&nbsp;and&nbsp;every&nbsp;day&nbsp;I’d&nbsp;respond&nbsp;with,&nbsp;“Ruby&nbsp;Tuesdays,”&nbsp;hoping&nbsp;he’d&nbsp;ask&nbsp;to&nbsp;join.&nbsp;I&nbsp;thought&nbsp;for&nbsp;sure&nbsp;he’d&nbsp;ask&nbsp;me&nbsp;out,&nbsp;but&nbsp;he&nbsp;never&nbsp;did...&nbsp;I&nbsp;should’ve&nbsp;known&nbsp;then&nbsp;that&nbsp;he&nbsp;marches&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;beat&nbsp;of&nbsp;his&nbsp;own&nbsp;drum! Finally,&nbsp;I&nbsp;got&nbsp;fed&nbsp;up&nbsp;and&nbsp;just&nbsp;sent&nbsp;him&nbsp;my&nbsp;number.&nbsp;He&nbsp;didn’t&nbsp;even&nbsp;text&nbsp;or&nbsp;call—he&nbsp;kept&nbsp;emailing&nbsp;me!&nbsp;😡&nbsp;So,&nbsp;I&nbsp;invited&nbsp;him&nbsp;to&nbsp;lunch. We&nbsp;had&nbsp;a&nbsp;blast&nbsp;and&nbsp;chatted&nbsp;every&nbsp;day&nbsp;for&nbsp;a&nbsp;month.&nbsp;Then,&nbsp;out&nbsp;of&nbsp;nowhere,&nbsp;he&nbsp;introduced&nbsp;me&nbsp;as&nbsp;his&nbsp;girlfriend&nbsp;to&nbsp;his&nbsp;Sergeant&nbsp;Major&nbsp;at&nbsp;his&nbsp;reenlistment&nbsp;ceremony,&nbsp;and&nbsp;I&nbsp;was&nbsp;like,&nbsp;“Since&nbsp;when?!” He&nbsp;never&nbsp;did&nbsp;ask&nbsp;me&nbsp;to&nbsp;be&nbsp;his&nbsp;girlfriend—smh! Fast&nbsp;forward&nbsp;13&nbsp;years&nbsp;and&nbsp;a&nbsp;mountain&nbsp;of&nbsp;bumps,&nbsp;curves,&nbsp;and&nbsp;ditches&nbsp;we’ve&nbsp;navigated&nbsp;together.&nbsp;Seriously,&nbsp;we&nbsp;barely&nbsp;made&nbsp;it&nbsp;through&nbsp;some&nbsp;of&nbsp;those&nbsp;hurdles,&nbsp;but&nbsp;we&nbsp;committed&nbsp;to&nbsp;each&nbsp;other&nbsp;and&nbsp;our&nbsp;family,&nbsp;growing&nbsp;closer&nbsp;than&nbsp;ever. And&nbsp;here&nbsp;we&nbsp;are,&nbsp;from&nbsp;2012&nbsp;to&nbsp;2025:&nbsp;two&nbsp;beautiful&nbsp;kiddos,&nbsp;a&nbsp;cozy&nbsp;home,&nbsp;thriving&nbsp;careers,&nbsp;engaged,&nbsp;and&nbsp;planning&nbsp;a&nbsp;wedding&nbsp;for&nbsp;all&nbsp;of&nbsp;you&nbsp;to&nbsp;celebrate&nbsp;with&nbsp;us. How We Met

We&nbsp;met&nbsp;at&nbsp;Fort&nbsp;Lee,&nbsp;VA—she&nbsp;was&nbsp;a&nbsp;government&nbsp;civilian&nbsp;contractor&nbsp;at&nbsp;the&nbsp;Soldier&nbsp;Support&nbsp;Center,&nbsp;and&nbsp;I&nbsp;was&nbsp;a&nbsp;Soldier.&nbsp;I&nbsp;would&nbsp;see&nbsp;her&nbsp;often&nbsp;but&nbsp;never&nbsp;knew&nbsp;she&nbsp;was&nbsp;single.&nbsp;I&nbsp;always&nbsp;thought&nbsp;she&nbsp;was&nbsp;beautiful,&nbsp;but&nbsp;my&nbsp;shyness&nbsp;held&nbsp;me&nbsp;back&nbsp;from&nbsp;saying&nbsp;anything.&nbsp;It&nbsp;took&nbsp;me&nbsp;a&nbsp;while&nbsp;to&nbsp;work&nbsp;up&nbsp;the&nbsp;courage&nbsp;to&nbsp;ask&nbsp;her&nbsp;coworker,&nbsp;Ms.&nbsp;Gee,&nbsp;about&nbsp;her.&nbsp;One&nbsp;day,&nbsp;when&nbsp;I&nbsp;stopped&nbsp;by,&nbsp;Ms.&nbsp;Gee&nbsp;mentioned&nbsp;she&nbsp;was&nbsp;at&nbsp;lunch&nbsp;and&nbsp;told&nbsp;me&nbsp;she&nbsp;usually&nbsp;ate&nbsp;at&nbsp;Ruby&nbsp;Tuesday.&nbsp;I&nbsp;never&nbsp;would&nbsp;have&nbsp;guessed&nbsp;that&nbsp;was&nbsp;her&nbsp;favorite&nbsp;spot&nbsp;at&nbsp;the&nbsp;time. After&nbsp;that&nbsp;conversation,&nbsp;I&nbsp;finally&nbsp;found&nbsp;the&nbsp;courage&nbsp;to&nbsp;ask&nbsp;her&nbsp;to&nbsp;lunch,&nbsp;and&nbsp;of&nbsp;course,&nbsp;we&nbsp;went&nbsp;to&nbsp;Ruby&nbsp;Tuesday.&nbsp;That&nbsp;lunch&nbsp;turned&nbsp;out&nbsp;to&nbsp;be&nbsp;the&nbsp;start&nbsp;of&nbsp;something&nbsp;special.&nbsp;It&nbsp;meant&nbsp;so&nbsp;much&nbsp;that&nbsp;I&nbsp;invited&nbsp;her&nbsp;to&nbsp;my&nbsp;reenlistment&nbsp;ceremony&nbsp;with&nbsp;the&nbsp;Quartermaster&nbsp;General.&nbsp;I&nbsp;introduced&nbsp;her&nbsp;as&nbsp;my&nbsp;girlfriend&nbsp;because&nbsp;I&nbsp;needed&nbsp;her&nbsp;to&nbsp;know&nbsp;I&nbsp;was&nbsp;serious&nbsp;about&nbsp;her.&nbsp; The&nbsp;past&nbsp;13&nbsp;years&nbsp;have&nbsp;brought&nbsp;us&nbsp;both&nbsp;incredible&nbsp;highs&nbsp;and&nbsp;some&nbsp;of&nbsp;our&nbsp;toughest&nbsp;challenges,&nbsp;but&nbsp;through&nbsp;it&nbsp;all,&nbsp;we’ve&nbsp;learned&nbsp;valuable&nbsp;lessons&nbsp;that&nbsp;will&nbsp;guide&nbsp;us&nbsp;into&nbsp;the&nbsp;future. In&nbsp;December&nbsp;2023,&nbsp;I&nbsp;secretly&nbsp;purchased&nbsp;an&nbsp;engagement&nbsp;ring,&nbsp;only&nbsp;telling&nbsp;a&nbsp;few&nbsp;people.&nbsp;I&nbsp;waited&nbsp;until&nbsp;I&nbsp;had&nbsp;her&nbsp;father’s&nbsp;blessing&nbsp;before&nbsp;proceeding.&nbsp;On&nbsp;June&nbsp;13,&nbsp;2024,&nbsp;I&nbsp;took&nbsp;her&nbsp;out&nbsp;for&nbsp;her&nbsp;birthday,&nbsp;planning&nbsp;to&nbsp;surprise&nbsp;her.&nbsp;Since&nbsp;she&nbsp;isn’t&nbsp;a&nbsp;cake&nbsp;person,&nbsp;I&nbsp;got&nbsp;cupcakes&nbsp;from&nbsp;"Nothing&nbsp;Bundt&nbsp;Cakes"&nbsp;to&nbsp;deliver&nbsp;the&nbsp;proposal&nbsp;message.&nbsp;Even&nbsp;with&nbsp;two&nbsp;cameras&nbsp;on&nbsp;her,&nbsp;she&nbsp;didn’t&nbsp;realize&nbsp;what&nbsp;was&nbsp;happening.&nbsp;She&nbsp;finally&nbsp;opened&nbsp;the&nbsp;card,&nbsp;read&nbsp;the&nbsp;message,&nbsp;and&nbsp;when&nbsp;she&nbsp;looked&nbsp;up,&nbsp;I&nbsp;was&nbsp;already&nbsp;on&nbsp;one&nbsp;knee.&nbsp;The&nbsp;rest&nbsp;is&nbsp;why&nbsp;you&nbsp;are&nbsp;reading&nbsp;this. The&nbsp;Lord&nbsp;has&nbsp;blessed&nbsp;us&nbsp;with&nbsp;two&nbsp;beautiful&nbsp;children&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;unwavering&nbsp;support&nbsp;of&nbsp;our&nbsp;family&nbsp;and&nbsp;friends.&nbsp;We&nbsp;are&nbsp;deeply&nbsp;grateful&nbsp;for&nbsp;all&nbsp;we&nbsp;have&nbsp;and&nbsp;can&nbsp;not&nbsp;wait&nbsp;to&nbsp;celebrate&nbsp;our&nbsp;special&nbsp;day&nbsp;with&nbsp;you.

Fun Fact:
Shaun and I are very competitive, especially in our careers. we literally send each other our physical fitness test scores just to one up. when he became a Warrant Officer, I was like I can do that too and here we are. That's why I did a packet, lol. He just got promoted to Chief Warrant Officer Three in July, and by the grace of God so will I in December!

Our first trip to Jamaica was in 2016 we had a blast!

In 2023 we made more memories, taking our baby girl Shai on her first trip to the Island. Next year will be Jrue's first trip!

The propsal was the sweetest, most intimate moment with just the three of us, and Shania was completely surprised and caught off guard

Fun Fact:
Shauns name in Shania's phone is" Big" because when they met her favorite movie at the time was Sex in the City, and she always felt like he gave successful energy just like Mr. Big&#160;

Fun Fact:
Shania and I thrive on debates with each other. Usually, we debate about celebrity drama or politics. We are both strong minded, so neither of us backs down from our opinions. It's's fun to have these debates with her.

Guests staying at Ocean Eden have access to Ocean Coral Spring. However, guests at Ocean Coral need to purchase a $50 day pass per day to access Ocean Eden. The wedding will take place at Ocean Coral. Located on the seafront at Coral Spring and with access to a spectacular beach of white sand and turquoise water, it boasts modern rooms, spacious swimming pools, a lazy river with a gentle current, a water park, as well as great dining options. In addition, it has a Despacio Spa Centre, Privilege, Exclusive Rooms and Services and a complete entertainment programme for the whole family, including a water sports and Diving Centre.

ACTIVITIES

At the Ocean Coral Spring, you’ll find an extensive programme of daytime and night-time activities led by our Blue Team entertainment team. Guests staying at Ocean Eden have full access to Ocean Coral Spring. However, guests staying at Ocean Coral need to purchase a $50 day pass per day to access Ocean Eden. The wedding will take place at Ocean Coral. Room service is available at both resorts from 11 AM to 11 PM. Only guests staying in the Privilege room category can enjoy 24-hour room service. DO I HAVE TO BOOK WITH JUST BOOK IT TRAVEL? To RSVP for our wedding and confirm attendance to our wedding events, please book through our website's booking page and only use Just Book It Travel for all travel arrangements. They handle our guest list, room block, and logistics, ensuring organization and updates. You'll get our group discount, concierge-level service, and flexible payment plans. Using this local agency is more convenient and reliable than online travel companies. WHAT ARE THE SUGGESTED TRAVEL DATES? Our wedding ceremony and reception will be held on June 27, 2026. However, we want nothing more than for our friends and family to enjoy a VACATION. To maximize your vacation time, enjoy excursions, the wedding, and all of the amenities offered in your all-inclusive package, we recommend the following date range: June 25-29, 2026. (The resort has a 3-night minimum stay requirement.) Please feel free to arrive as early in advance as you'd like and stay at the resort for as long as you'd like. Group rates are valid for up to seven nights stay based on availability at the time of reservation. The Daisy Club is designed for kids ages 4-12, led by the resort team of professionals and accompanied by their mascot Daisy. IS THERE A SPACE FOR TEENS TO HANG OUT? Yes, the resort provides a room with video games for ages 13-17. This exclusive space offers an extensive sports program, games, and activities aimed at young people. WHAT IF I'M UNSURE OF MY EXACT TRAVEL DATES, BUT I'M READY TO RSVP BY BOOKING MY ROOM? Reservations can be modified without penalty up until the final balance due date of March 16, 2026. If you are unsure of your travel dates, it is recommended that you book your room for the longer length of stay and then reduce your stay prior to the final balance due date. This way, you would have confirmed all potential room nights (since availability is subject to change) and can modify your travel dates once flights are booked without penalty prior to the final balance due date. Solo occupancy hotel rates are sometimes higher than double occupancy. When we add your travel companion in the future, you'll recognize the double occupancy savings. Rates are refreshed at the time future changes are made. WHAT IS THE PAYMENT SCHEDULE? A $50 per guest deposit is required to confirm guest's attendance / RSVP. Partial payments are optional. All guests will be automatically setup on a monthly payment schedule until the remaining balance is paid. Monthly payments are completely optional, and the reminders are for your convenience and flexibility only. Payments are never auto-drafted. The final balance is due anytime before March 16, 2026.
